Miniature Hobby Gaming

Oh! It's like an addiction!

Bolt Action 1940 French

I’ve been working on these for a few months. Most of the models are from Crusader Miniatures, a UK company. Those would be the motorcycle troops. the rest are from Warlord Games, the producer of Bolt Action.

My Char B1 Bis, before priming and painting. I haven’t built a plastic model kit bigger than 1:100 scale is a long time!

The completed Char B1 Bis. I thought it came out pretty nice.

Motorcycle platoon dismounts after a little bit of paint work.

The same models, fully painted, but before I finished their basing.

Some of my motorcycles and support weapons, right after assembly.

My “practice base”. A good test for the colors I was going to use.

Here are the first 4, with the bases almost done. Just a few pieces of vegetation/tufts to add to each.

The support weapons stands for the regular infantry platoon; anti-tank rifle, Sniper and Medium Machinegun.

Support Weapons for the Motorcycle Platoon. Two Medium Hotchkiss machineguns and a Medium Mortar (81mm).

The total force, as it is now. Still to be added are R-35s, H-39s, Laffly trucks, more infantry, more motorcycles with sidecars, 25mm anti-tank guns, and 75mm howitzers.

  1. The tank came out really well, but to be fair, they all look good 👍

    1. Thank you! I only in the last year got into this larger scale gaming, so all of my prior tanks for gaming have been 15mm or 1/285 scale. This scale (1/56) is more like the model kit building I did when I as younger.
